With 4" cedar walls you can be quite cozy in our lovely cottage.
My parents built the cottage in 1960 and it has great charm.
We are looking for environmentally-friendly tourists to share our retirement
property. On a lovely landscaped front lawn, we live right next door.
We would be happy to host you in our 1960s cottage. Good queen-sized
mattresses in each bedroom, plus a sofabed.
It is 624 sq. feet, with two bedrooms, picture windows,
a 3 piece bathroom (shower). It sleeps 4 comfortably, and has a kitchen,
bar fridge, stove, electric heat, wireless internet, town water and
sewer. We overlook a small lake, with a beach and dock, and a clean
shore line. Great swimming and fishing, too.
Bala is a short 2
km walk away: beer store, LCBO, grocery store, butcher, bank, and good
restaurants, too! The hospital is 35 km away in Bracebridge. There is
space on the lawn for tents. We provide linens and towels.
There are two off-road bikes available. With lots
to do: chess, checkers, Sorry, playing cards, a VCR, a selection
of old musicals, and Scrabble, you can make the most of cottage nights.
Make sure you
bring extra clothes, as our weather
can change. Living on the lake can be cooler at night. We experience
the Lake Effect from Georgian Bay.
We would be happy to share our BBQ, our deck, canoe,
adult life jackets, and good conversation and wine, in the time honoured
tradition of Cottage Friends. If you prefer privacy, that is fine,
too. We are right next door should you need us or want to borrow sugar!
Our adult children find it a great place to stay, but cannot visit very
often!
