I noticed the MNR woman with the trapped raccoons. It is a perfect area for them.
She puts them in one end of the trap.
Then she puts tags on their ears.
Off it went!
The ear clips identify them as innoculated for rabies.
The raccoons took it in stride.

Putting on the ear tag - much like an ear ring.
Putting it in one end.
She caught the mom and 4 babies.
If they simply took the animals away, this would leave a territorial void.
Possibly, other rabid animals would move into the area. |
And so they simply trap them, then release them. |
They didn't seem to upset with the pliers and the tagging. |
happy to be released.... |
Then off it went.

The mother had been innoculated last year.
She took it in stride.
